Most crafting menus are a shopping list: hand over the parts, get the item. This one tracks a crafting skill. Every recipe has a level it unlocks at, every attempt earns XP, and experienced crafters work faster and fail less. A new player can still make a gold ring; it takes longer, and now and then it leaves them holding a crushed gem instead.
How a bench works
- Unlimited stations. Place as many as you like, each with its own recipe list, so a jeweller's bench and a weapons workbench never share a menu.
- Unlimited recipes. Each one sets the finished item and quantity, the parts it consumes, and the tools that only have to be on hand. The chisel and the ring mould stay in the inventory; the gold does not.
- Levels and XP. Every recipe sets a required level and an XP range for a success, with a smaller one for a failed attempt.
- Failures with a result. A recipe can fail, and the chance falls as the crafter levels up. You decide what a failure produces: the example ruby recipe hands back a crushed ruby.
- Crafting time that shortens. A base time per recipe, cut with each level down to a floor you set.
- Locked benches. Restrict a station to named players, to a list of jobs, or to a job that has to be on duty.
What is in the download
The crafting resource, the utility library it runs on (skills, XP, zones and the framework bridge) and a lightweight target resource, so there is nothing else to track down before install. Database files for ESX and QBCore are included.
- Frameworks: ESX, QBCore, and Qbox through its QBCore bridge, chosen with one line in the config.
- Target: the bundled one, ox_target or qb-target.
- Database: oxmysql.
- UI colours: a single stylesheet of variables.
Before you go live
The recipes that ship (rings and cut gems) are examples built on example items. Swap them for items your inventory actually holds, and add the crafting skill to the utility library's skill list if it is not there already. The readme walks through both.
